The Spielzeug (Toy) Museum is in the tower of the Altes Rathaus.
It was cool… (but not really worth the admission, unless you’re a collector or something… at least on my wallet.) I think the one in Nürnberg might be better.
Of course the dollhouses were the best part.
Nothing at all has changed in the popular depiction of Indians in Germany since the time these toys were made!
My favorite part, OBVIOUSLY, was the play altar with the all the different vestments and liturgical objects.
So elaborate! I wonder if you could order this from a store/catalogue or if they had to commission it.
These dolls portrayed, apparently, “everyday Frenchmen” of the time. I’m a little afraid.
